"One thing I wouldn't change in my new house is my geothermal and underfloor heating. Even if you have just finished building your house, almost everyone would make changes. Where my heating is concerned, no way! The house is a very pleasant and cpmfptable temperature, the bills are economical and I am thrilled not to have oil for a vareity of reasons. The big plus in the winter is returning from a work trip away and having used the "vacation mode" on the control panel, I step into a cosy warm home.

I was initally reluctant to have the underfloor upstairs. It required a specialised lighweight cement floor and as a result the house is much more solid with less noise and I'm thrilled I did it. Obviously the initial expense of installing geothermal exceeds conventional heating methods but I am well on my way to recouping the outlay through savings and it is not something you can easily do when you have finished building your home. I am into my third year in my new home and all is working very well with the geothermal, I would highly recommend it. EcoWest installed the system and combined with their partners Eurotech I was extremely confident that the materials and machinery were of the highest quality coming from Austria where such systems have been in place for a long time."
